What apps do you use to play Dolby Vision?
For correct playback of Dolby Vision Profile 5 MKV content you need hardware-mediaplayer.
Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 with kodinerds Kodi 19/20,
Zidoo Z9X or Dune 4K.
If you use AppleTV4K you have to stream from NAS/PC with Infuse Pro to play correctly profile 5/8 mkv.
You could also convert to mp4 with tool mp4box and play with internal WebOS USB-mediaplayer.

Official UHD BD remuxes with Dolby Vision are DV Profile 7. These only work with the first three players when it comes to Dolby Vision. Profile 7 is only played with HDR10 on AppleTV 4K.
UHD Remux DV Hybrids are Profile 8 – these again run on all players mentioned
