Thanks!
Is this in Dolby Vision or HDR?
I am confused about this too. I’ve downloaded it and it plays as HDR on my devices. Normally MKV Dolby Vision files would playback with wrong colours if not recognised as DV.
It’s a DV disc remux so the DV layer is a separate 1080p file that must not be activating for you and so therefore it defaults to the HDR10 that’s embedded within the main file.
When I view the contents inside the MKV file with mkvtoolnix I only see a single video stream?
i.e no separate 1080p layer
Dolby Vision Profile 7 in “ISO/UHD BD” is with two layers.
Dolby Vision Profile 7 in “MKV” is converted to one layer with HDR10 fallback.
you need Zidoo, Nvidia Shield Pro (Kodinerds KODI) or Dune 4K for correct playback of the DV layer in “MKV”
Plus the listing above only shows a single video stream
There are different DV profiles:
DV profiles 7
(incl. HDR10 fallback) UHD BluRay/REMUX – fallback runs everywhere.
DV profiles 5
(Dolby Vision only, green/purple) DV WEB-DL DL – only runs on certain players.
DV Profile 8 Hybrid (self-made)
(incl. HDR10 fallback) hybrid version consisting of DV WEB-DL and HDR10 WEB-DL/HDR10 REMUX)
