How do you get a 2160p WEB DV to work on the TV? I have an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro and 65″ Panasonic JZ2000. I enabled 4K and Dolby Vision in the settings. Connected the flash drive with the movie on it. then tried to play it with Kodi, VLC player and a few others. It will play. But the picture colours are green and purple. I also tried it on my UB9000 4K Blu-ray Player too. Same problem. Help!
use plex or emby to stream it
Use “Just (Video) Player”. Its an Android App uses the ExoPlayer which can play MKV Files with DV. No Matter if DV Profile 5 (in your case), DV Profile 7 or DV Profile 8.
It seems that the DV profile used in the file is not supported by your device. My guess is that there is nothing you can do. I use an Apple TV with Infuse app which can handle a lot of codecs and file formats but it is still limited. For example it cannot handle DV profiles used by ripped UHD discs.
Have you tested the file by inserting the usb stick directly in your tv? My LG C1 has way less problems with mkv and HDR formats than my UHD player.
AFAIK your Apple TV can only handle DV 8, which is an hybrid. I told him to use the Just Video Player, which can handle every DV Profile. I use it on my Sony Android TV (A90J).
It would be better to know which DV Profile the MKV has, so every1 knows if his Player can play it or not.
Thank you! the “Just Video Player” works! Not sure why the other apps can’t display it properly.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Thank you! 🙂
