Thank you!

sorry if this is a stupid question, but I havent been able to get a clear answer from what I’ve been reading. But why don’t remuxes have the dolby vision tag? is dolby vision not supported on a remux? is that just not possible? So the only way I can enjoy dolby vision is if i dowload the full BD?
thanks.
From what i’ve seen when ripping mkv Remuxes from UHD, DV is a 2nd 1080p layer on top of the 2160p layer. I can choose to add it, but it doesn’t make a difference when I do, so I don’t anymore. DV is nice, but it’s not a game changer. It’s Dolby’s version of HDR. HDR and HDR10 are great as is. May simply have to play the original UHD to get DV. Many apps support that.
really appreciate the response. From what youve said, I think the remux meets my needs. Just went for the full BD for “completeness” sake? if that makes sense.
thanks again
If you want to keep DV, you can remux it yourself with the latest MakeMKV. It will automatically do it for you.
