One of the most intense movies I’ve ever seen, this is a fantastic site but…..there’s TERRIBLE pixellation throughout (starts at the 3:45 mark to be precise, then again at about 7:00 minutes – so didn’t bother with rest of film). Nothing wrong on my end. I thought at first it was my personally-remuxed version (MKV-ToolNix) removing add’l audio & sub tracks but, nope, it’s the original.
This is how the movie was shot, and what you’re seeing is the 4K resolution amplifying both the good (film shots) and the bad (video shots). Like the blu-ray.com review states, the DP wanted to ping pong between crystal clarity, fuzzy video and psychedelic elements, no doubt to throw off the viewer and enhance the overall hallucinatory feeling of the movie. This is how I remember it being way back when I got the DVD, and with each new release that ping pong effect becomes even more apparent, none as much as the 4K UHD.
