Video
The new 4K restoration brings a big jump in detail over the old 2K restoration by Arrow with a very different grade. The UHD is generally a bit blocky and has some noticeable chroma artifacts, even with the FEL baked.

Audio
There appears to be two distinct versions of the original Dolby Stereo mix on all of the home video releases: one version that is on the R1 DVD and LaserDisc and another that is on all of the BDs. Though I'm not sure whether these two versions are from the same or a different transfer, it seems likely that Arrow did their own work on the stereo (during their director-approved restoration) instead of porting the DVD/LD track. This was then carried over to all of the other BDs.

In my opinion, and as was mentioned before on the BLURANiUM remux, the LD & DVD sound much brighter than the BD stereo tracks which in general sound dull. Since there are no major differences between the two versions besides the aforementioned mix/EQ changes, only the LD track was used. A digital capture of the digital stereo track (with CD specs) on the MCA LaserDisc was used for this remux, pretty much the exact same as the DVD but lossless. The LD was resampled to 48 kHz for comparison. Samples are included from the LD, DVD, and two BDs (where some differences, like an error in the edit on Arrow's track in sample #3, can be heard).

The older commentary track originally commissioned by Arrow is available on every BD (except the first GER BD) and every track appears to be a transcode of the lossy track from the Arrow BD. The Arrow track was used for this commentary.

Subtitles + Chapters
English (US / SDH and non-SDH) subtitles were synced from iTunes; English (UK / SDH) subtitles OCR'd, spellchecked, and synced/tonemapped from source 3. The non-SDH English PGS subtitles on both of the GER BDs were somewhat poor in my opinion, so they were excluded; additionally, both GER BDs have identical subtitles font, positioning, and translation-wise. The English SDH subtitles from the UHD were too bright (#adadad, 68% white) so they were tonemapped to a more conservative brightness (#9a9a9a, 60% white). All PGS subtitles tonemapped to match this value. Thanks squash and xzin for the WEB subtitles. Named chapters from source 6 were synced to the nearest matching I- or P-frames; opening and ending chapters renamed.
